Wish Upon A Butterfly is a family owned and operated butterfly farm located in New Castle, Pennsylvania, about 1 hour northwest of Pittsburgh. We started raising Monarchs commercially in 2001.Our butterflies have been released at weddings, funerals, parties, memorials, and even as fundraisers. We specialize in monarchs, painted ladies, and also raise swallowtails, red admirals, and milbert tortoiseshells (and we are always expanding!).
In 2004 we opened our doors to the public to offer tours through our farm and butterfly sanctuary. We started to offer our butterfly educational presentations and kits. Our presentations include caterpillars that you may hold, and butterflies that you may pet, while also presenting all the exciting facts about butterflies and their metamorphosis. Our talks are more of a one on one presentation, so we ask that they be presented to no more than 20 to 30 individuals.

In 2007, a fire destroyed the business as well as our home and we had to rebuild. But now, in 2008 we will be celebrating our new Grand Opening in June as we start off the season stronger than before. We have completely rebuilt and we expanded to start raising even more butterflies.
We take pride in offering healthy, disease free butterflies. Each butterfly is hand raised and inspected before sending them to an event. Each butterfly is packed in its own individual envelope and then placed in to an insulated box with an ice pack. We ship them overnight to arrive at your event the next day.
