What Type of Butterflies Can I Release?

We carry Monarchs and Painted Ladies for release throughout the year. We also do raise Red Admirals, Black Swallowtails, along with an assortment of Pennsylvania butterflies. If you will be releasing the butterflies outside of Pennsylvania, then we need to make sure they are permitted to be shipped into your state. Wish Upon A Butterfly carries permits to ship into all 48 states, but not all butterflies can ship into all 48 states.

How Many butterflies should I release?

The amount of butterflies you release depends on what you envision for a butterfly release and your budget. We are available to help you design your special butterfly release that will make your event special.

What temperature can I release the butterflies?

Butterflies can not be released in the winter time. For a nice release you want the temperatures to be at least 60 degrees for Monarchs and 70 degrees for Painted Ladies.
