Your butterflies are packed in individual envelopes. This is to protect them during shipping. Before removing them from their envelopes, you want to make sure they are cooled down. You can place the opened box with top removed in the warmest spot in your refrigerator for 10 minutes. Set a timer as you do not want to leave them in too long. Offset the lid.
Remove the envelopes. The butterflies need to be warm to move. By placing them in the refrigerator, you have slowed them down. on the release box so that you have a small crack that you can slip the butterflies through. Carefully open each envelope and lightly grab the butterfly’s closed wings between your index finger and thumb. Gently slide the butterfly through the crack between the lid and box. If the butterflies start to become too active while in the release box, place the whole box in the warmest place in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
